You might be better off to consider a "scooter-type of vehicle", Id make my car a truck anyway and then put the scooter in the bed. While it's NOT a car, it's definitely not a motorcycle either (death trap - Sorry Harley fans). And when you think about it, I bet a major part of your "other" car duties would probably be errand running that a scooter in-town would be just fine for. I played with one with baskets on the sides that handled everything I needed, for over a year in Hawaii (home of the International Bad Driver Association) , and I have to tell you, off the freeways there really was no problem (However, I wouldn't go near one even with an UZI! - High speed is not an option) They can be parked anywhere, they're fun and extremely ecoand they get a zillion miles per gallon. Tnink about your real usage and then go ride one if you think it might work out.
